Disabilities

WIRAC is committed to extending opportunities to everybody no matter what goals and abilities you have. WIRAC links with schools, community groups and local government bodies to promote and increase more opportunities for our community.

Sports abilities has been designed to offer a chance for people with disabilities to interact with each other while undertaking a physical activity. Our qualified and experienced Special Needs Swimming Instructors teach adults and children with disabilities to swim and exercise in the water.

The YMCA Swimathon is the main fundraising event of the year for people with disabilities. The efforts of the community of Warwick has allowed for the purchase of a new pool hoist. An aquatic fun day is held each year in conjunction with Swimming Queensland. These days are designed for children and adults with a disability to enjoy fun water activities and gain aquatic skills and confidence, in a relaxed and safe environment.
