WIRAC provides over 25 group fitness and aqua classes per week.

PILATES
Pilate’s aims to strengthen the “core” (i.e. abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks) improves physical co-ordination and balance.

Les Mills BODYPUMP™
BODYPUMP™ is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout that can burn up to 540 calories per class. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

PRYME ACTIVE (STADIUM)
Classes are designed for adults 60 and over who like to maintain an active lifestyle and are looking for a fun, social experience as well as a good workout. The focus is on games and other fun physical activities designed to increase fitness, coordination and balance. This class is all about experiencing the joy of movement through games and sport.

PRYME EASY
A class designed for people 50 and over looking to stay active and mobile with gentle exercises in a welcoming social environment. The class combines aerobic and resistance training to help maintain overall fitness while having a great time with upbeat music and good company.

Yoga
Relax and unwind with 60 minutes of mindfulness, gentle stretching and exercise. A fusion of several different Yoga styles to centre your mind and body, suitable for new comers and experienced yogis.

Power HIIT
A 30 min high intensity circuit style workout utilising the latest in High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) techniques to get the results you want fast. Using functional movements and some resistance equipment Power HIIT is fat burning, fitness building class that will challenge your entire body. Bring the Power!

STEP
An aerobics based class using and elevated platform with a mixture of classic aerobic and athletic movements backed up by fun, upbeat music. This class is designed to give you a full body cardio workout suitable for new comers and veterans alike.

SPIN
An indoor cycling class that offers a moderate to high intensity workout over 45 minutes. Interval based training takes you through sprints, hills and mountains to help improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance.

AQUA BASIC
Suitable for all ages and fitness levels with classes designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and strength through water based exercise.

AQUA FIT
A high energy water based workout providing a fun way to increase muscular strength and endurance with great results.

PRYME AQUA
Held in our Hydrotherapy Pool, this class aims to improve general fitness and wellbeing. This class is ideal for anyone new to Aqua Aerobics, PrYme Movers members or someone recovering from injury.

Key Dates to know about in early 2018

As we move into the second half of 2018, we have a number of programs and events coming up to help keep you active and engaged. Spring is not that far away and its arrival will see the start of our Summer Hours from the 3rd of September. The new Spring Group Fitness Timetable will start at the same time and we are excited to announce a new water aerobics program, Aqua Drums. SAF Aqua Drums Vibes® is a unique aqua fitness program that combines drum rhythms, lots of fun and a totally new approach to water training!

The latest BODYPUMP release debuts July 18 and combines the latest music and research to deliver one of the most effective workouts yet. Discover how BODYPUMP can get you lean, toned and strong because Strong is Beautiful.

Our Cancer Survivor Program has started and will run every Monday and Wednesday from 4-5pm until 19th of September. The program is FREE and is designed for anyone recovering from cancer with an aim to help them get fitter and healthier after their treatment and meet others who have similar experiences. All fitness levels are welcome and each session is supervised by a qualified trainer. For more information, simply contact reception.

Term 3 starts July 16th and we have another term of high quality aquatic education for the Southern Downs community. WIRAC caters to everyone from babies, children to adult learn to swim and even special needs. We have our own squad program that's set to grow even bigger in the warmer months. Our qualified, passionate instructors are here to help everyone feel safer in a the water.

On Wed 25th July WIRAC will host the SHELL Questacon Science Circus where science comes alive! Lively presentations and displays educate and entertain in a roadshow that delivers science shows to towns and schools across regional Australia. During August, WIRAC will host some special events associated with Disability Action Week and in September both WIRAC and the YMCA at Camp Leslie Dam, will host the YMCA Charity Masquerade Ball (see details below).

YMCA Charity Ball – On Saturday the 22nd September, YMCA Warwick (including WIRAC and the Camp Leslie Dam facility) are conducting a Masquerade Charity Ball to raise money for our special needs (aquatic) program as well as funds for the Cancer Survivor Program. Tickets are available from www.warwicktickets.com.au.

Did you know that WIRAC has NDIS listing? This means that we can assist the special needs population on the Southern Downs with their training plans, including health and wellness, personalised training or even learning how to swim. Come in and chat to see how we can assist you. On top of this, WIRAC can assist with programs and plans which are covered by Workcover or TAC and we even have an Exercise Physiologist who conducts the Federal Government DVA program at the centre.
