Learn to Swim

Learn to swim

The Y provides a safe environment and experienced instructors to help you or your child have fun, grow, learn new skills and take their swimming to the next level.

Swimming Programs are offered to children from 4 months of age through to adults and swimmers with special needs and provide a unique opportunity for children to develop their skills (physical, intellectual and personal) in a progressively challenging environment.

Our Austswim or Swim Australia qualified instructors will focus on your child's individual ability and encourage fun through games, instruction and social interaction. Our teachers will help students improve their individual abilities by encouraging them to progress at their pace.

Programs are offered as a 10-week term of lessons following state school term dates or in school holiday blocks. Program dates do vary, so please contact Wirac to be informed of the programs and registration dates.

In January WIRAC will be starting its Pentath to Pentath program (P2PGM) which will be a fun and friendly members competition to align with the start of the Commonwealth Games in April 2018. This will include monthly challenges for members which will mirror many of the activities associated with the Commonwealth Games – see reception for more details and it is only $25 to register. Cash prizes are available at the end of each month with some great prizes at the end of the challenge.

By the way, WIRAC will be the home of the Cameroon Commonwealth Games team for the last two weeks of March as they will be using this venue to get ready for their involvement in wrestling, weight lifting, basketball, badminton and athletics. Of course the Queens Baton Relay comes through Warwick on Thu 29 March so stay tuned for more details on this.
